Fraud against the government costs taxpayers money and often goes unreported. The federal False Claims Act gives employees a mechanism for reporting employer fraud without risk of retribution. The Act allows an employee to bring a "Qui Tam action" where she acts as a "private attorney general" in a lawsuit against her employer for fraudulent activity. The act protects the Qui Tam whistleblower from discrimination, harassment, or retaliation stemming from the protected whistleblower activity. Victims of unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation may be entitled to reinstatement, back pay, liquidated damages and costs and attorneys' fees.
Fried & Bonder represents whistleblowers in Qui Tam litigation and in harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination litigation arising from whistleblower activity. If you wish to pursue a Qui Tam claim, or have suffered discrimination, harassment or retaliation because you engaged in whistleblower activity, contact an attorney from Fried & Bonder, LLC.
